Twin Cities residents can find plenty of Thai restaurants, but few come close to matching the charm and heartfelt warmth of On Khumchaya's Kitchen. As its name implies, this galley-style kitchen is owned and run by On Khumchaya herself and often finds her laboring away with concentration like a diamond cutter in its galley-style kitchen - often heard clanging woks clang as her energy fills the space accompanied by her trademark woven cap that never fails to keep its hold!
Khumchaya began cooking for herself and her sisters at home in Khlong Suan, Chachoengsao, Thailand, at an early age. Her dishes showcase Thai flavors such as sweet, salty, sour and spicy in their delicate balance. Now, just months since opening their restaurant in Thailand, her food has already earned praise from many customers who find satisfaction through it.
On's Kitchen is nestled within a Cleveland Avenue strip mall that also houses Burger Press and an assortment of retail and service businesses. Opening in an unprecedented rush, On's took over for Cafe BonXai when they closed on November 30, with food that left people satisfied for days after. Although its minimalist atmosphere may give an impression of haste when opening, their food truly deserves top billing!
On's Kitchen has a 67-item menu featuring well-executed classics like Pad Thai, chicken dishes and noodle soups; as well as more adventurous fare like pork or veggie egg rolls ($3) that stand out from typical Chinese and Vietnamese takeout offerings.
Ordering online through Uber Eats is straightforward and offers transparent pricing information. After entering your address, look out for an option at checkout to select a delivery time slot if available; this way you can schedule On's Kitchen to arrive whenever suits your schedule!
