Sloomoo Institute Expands to Chicago and Atlanta

After experiencing tremendous success in Manhattan, Sloomoo Institute is expanding to Chicago and Atlanta with new locations offering kids and adults alike a much-needed respite from screens. This science-backed experiential concept offers children and adults alike a welcome break from digital devices.

The new concrete loft spaces offer interactive experiences designed to appeal to sight, touch, smell and sound - including a DIY bar offering 60 scents; Yayoi Kusama-inspired Slime Wall; Kinetic Sand "Doons; ASMR experiences; etc.

Experiences

Sloomoo Institute provides an immersive sensory play experience focused on joy. Their mission is to empower people through vibrant colors, scents, tactile compounds and captivating visuals and sounds - their 20,000 square-foot interactive space is a feast for the senses - never-ending homemade slime, soothing ASMR sessions, kaleidoscopic glow-in-the-dark experiences as well as an incredible Design-A-Slime Bar that features over four million combinations!

The Institute has locations in New York City, Atlanta and Chicago and features a DIY slime bar with 60 scents, 40 colors and 150 charm mix-ins for endless combinations. Additionally, visitors are immersed in buckets of slime old school Nickelodeon style at Sloomoo Falls.

Smells

Sloomoo assembled experts from different fields to enhance sensory experiences at Sloomoo, including composer Pei Pei Chung who wrote music for ASMR soundscapes and artists Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger who created interactive video installations such as a "Slimey Mirror," reflecting your image made up of slime. Method Design provided the recreational architectural design.

This 20,000-square-foot experience boasts a DIY bar featuring 60 scents, 40 colors and 150 charms for visitors to try themselves, plus 350 gallon slime lake known as "Lake Sloomoo." Additionally, Yayoi Kusama Obliteration Room-inspired slime walls exist at Kinetic Sand "Doons."

Sounds

Visitors to The Gallery at West Point can step away from the predominantly digital world and discover a sensory feast of vivid colors, scents, tactile compounds, captivating visuals and sounds to mesmerize them as they unwind and unleash their inner creativity.

Sloomoo was founded by Karen Robinovitz and Sara Schiller and now boasts locations in NYC, Atlanta and Chicago. Each Sloomoo space combines sophisticated interactive design with contemporary art; to make this possible, Sloomoo brought in experts in diverse industries to make this happen, such as composer Pei Pei Chung who composed music for Sloomoo's ASMR soundscapes called Synthesoothers; Laia Cabrera and Isabelle Duverger created AR and interactive video installations such as their "Slimey Mirror," while Method Design's Demetrios Comodromos headed the site's architectural design;

Kinetic Sand

Giant Kinetic Sand: an Eye-Catch

The sand here is gluten- and dairy-free, produced in an allergy-friendly facility and designed to be enjoyed by both children and adults. Other experiences offered at the center include Yayoi Kusama Obliteration Room-inspired "Slime Wall," Kinetic Sand "Doons", ASMR experiences, soundscapes and scent exploration; ASMR experiences; soundscapes exploration; ASMR experiences, soundscape exploration as well as scent discovery experiences. There's even a sand tray therapy area, where patients use tools and mold sand to form figures representing their feelings or situations in real time!

Design-A-Slime Bar

With slime conventions, online shops and influencer meet-ups attracting thousands at once, it is clear that slime has gone far beyond children's playrooms. Sloomoo Institute was created from this trend; offering science-backed experiences designed to give adults and kids alike sensory pleasure.

The space features an endless DIY bar where guests can customize their slime in terms of texture, scent, color and toppings; an Obliteration Room-inspired Slime Wall; kinetic sand "Doons;" otherworldly VR videos and engaging ASMR experiences; plus satisfying audiovisual ASMR experiences.

Kids and grown-ups alike can join a slime class to learn the fundamentals of crafting with slime. Tickets start at $39 for an unforgettable 90-minute experience that includes an 8oz slime from our DIY bar (retail value $18)!
