Early life

Known for the movie Hatya (1988), actress Yasmina Khan was born on December 28, 1949 in Lausanne, Switzerland. She has an Irish and Spanish Jewish grandfather and an English and Irish maternal grandmother. She was previously married to Christopher Jeffries and Basil Embiricos.

In 1955, Khan started her career working as a lawyer at the law firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. After a few years, she was promoted to associate partner. She was later promoted to general partner. She remained with the firm for the rest of her career. She was named a participating partner in 1961. She was promoted to general partner in 1970. She was also named an associate partner in 1966. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and a grant from the Pakistani government.
