Baker's second album, "Rapture," released in 1986, catapulted her to stardom, anchored by the hit single "Sweet Love." This album earned her two Grammy Awards in 1987, establishing her as a force in the music industry. Her follow-up album, "Giving You the Best That I Got," released in 1988, was another substantial success, raking in additional Grammy Awards.

Fans voiced their frustration at Baker's unreliability and drew comparisons to Lauryn Hill, known for similarly unexpected cancellations.
