Asymmetrical Car Concepts

An asymmetrical car design concept has been around for years. It can feature a distinct look on each side and is visually stunning. Companies such as BMW, Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz have all recently introduced concepts with asymmetrical elements into their lineups.

It's truly a sight to behold, and there are plenty of examples to prove it. One particularly striking concept car from DS Automobiles, the DS X E-TENSE concept car. Featuring two distinct sides with an asymmetrical design - the driver's side featuring a racing-inspired cockpit while the passenger's is designed for comfort.

The DS X E-TENSE is an electric, autonomous concept car built for the future. It's a luxury automobile that envisions what sports cars could look like in 2035 - its visionary exterior mirrors offering glimpses into sports car technology that has yet to come.

This car is completely asymmetrical, electric and self-driving. It has a racing style cockpit for the driver as well as an enclosed cocoon for passengers designed for comfort.

DS Automobiles designed the DS X E-TENSE to honor their Paris heritage while offering an imaginative vision of what sports cars could look like in 2050. It boasts an asymmetrical design that allows drivers to sit in the front with a glass floor and observe what lies beneath them.

It features a butterfly door that opens to reveal an elegant minimalistic design and a steering wheel with an unadorned dashboard. It's truly an eye-catching car, sure to get you interested in turning the wheel!

Some of the strangest asymmetrical cars include the Nardi-Giannini Bisiluro, shaped like a double torpedo and said to have blown away a Ferrari in an accident during racing. This striking design harkens back to classic Nardi-Giannini racing car, the Silver Fox, which had an asymmetrical appearance but ended up getting blown into a ditch by passing Ferraris.

Another asymmetrical car is the Infiniti Prototype 10 Concept, featuring a single seater with the driver positioned off-centre and featuring a racing-style cockpit on one side. It was unveiled last week at Pebble Beach Concours in California, just weeks after DS Automobiles revealed their unique X E-Tense concept car with an asymmetrical design.

It is worth noting that the Infiniti Prototype 10 is a single seater, an uncommon trait among asymmetrical cars. Furthermore, this concept car serves to demonstrate why concept cars are important: They should be eye-catching and showcase new technology and the future.

Asymmetric lifts feature center columns angled to face more towards the rear of the vehicle, making them perfect for off-center loading and eliminating door dings that often occur with symmetrical designs. They're also great for larger doors since it provides extra room to enter and exit without any hassles.
