Choosing Kitchen Cabinets on Legs

Whether you are renovating your home or simply upgrading to a new cabinet, there are a few factors that you should consider when choosing kitchen cabinets on legs. These can affect your kitchen's comfort, function, and aesthetics. Depending on the style you choose, you may want to consider using decorative or functional legs.

Kitchen cabinets on legs come in many styles, from base to frameless. In general, your options range from traditional to contemporary. You can also use furniture leg sets, which come with additional clips that allow mounting on aluminum plinths. However, these are not always necessary.

If you are looking for a more modern, contemporary look, consider the SEKTION line. This collection has a sleek, frameless design with gray, white, and black tones. It features 15 different styles to choose from. There are full front cabinet doors, and Shaker-style drawer fronts, as well as a wide array of cabinet pulls. The cabinets are available in heights of 80 inches and 90 inches.

When considering the height of cabinets, don't forget to take into account the height of your countertops. Most cabinets are sized to accommodate 36 inches of countertop height. Make sure to leave a gap of one inch above the top of your cabinets. That way you can easily clean your countertops.

If you are working with a smaller space, you can consider all-sided cabinets. They are easier to install than base cabinets, and they give you great flexibility in your kitchen. But, all-sided cabinets are more expensive than standard cabinets.

For kitchens with uneven flooring, you can opt for plinths. These are thin plastic strips that provide a leveling effect. They work the same way as toe-kick boards on conventional cabinets. They can be used on both sides of the cabinet, and they help hide the inner legs that support the weight.

Moduline cabinets are a great option for tool storage. They have a unique Toe Kick Riser(tm) feature that keeps your cabinets safer and cleaner. Also, these cabinets are very sturdy and made to last. Aside from being extremely stylish, they are highly efficient.

Bulthaup cabinets are semi-industrial in style. Unlike IKEA, Bulthaup isn't standardized in width or depth, so you can't get cabinets that are 27 inches wide. You can however, use short legs to support base cabinets. These can be installed on either side of the cabinet and at equal intervals of four to eight inches.

Ikea cabinets are based on the contemporary European modular style. The company has also been known to sell cabinets that have adjustable legs, making them movable. While movable cabinets are durable, you need to be careful to place them on a flat surface. Otherwise, they can be damaged.

Alternatively, you can mount your countertop directly to your wall. The downside of this method is that your countertops won't be level, but it is easier and quicker. You can also add a wooden support to the bottom of your cabinets, which will distribute the weight evenly.
