Door Trim Ideas For Different Styles

Door trims come in many different forms and functions that can add a distinct touch to any house. Not only are they easy to install but you can even personalize them to suit your preferences!

Butted casings combine two flat side casings with an additional wider head casing resting directly above. This style works especially well in homes with high ceilings.

Rounded

This unique door trim adds a beautiful Victorian touch to any house.

This style of door casing pairs beautifully with transom windows and can make doors appear wider.

This form of trim is composed of plywood, which can be stained or painted to complement your home's decor. Installation is straightforward with all pieces necessary already included for you - even pre-cut for seamless appearance! Choosing this option saves money as well as resources. Unfortunately it doesn't cover hard edges on walls or doors though.

Butted-End

There are various methods for crafting door trim that stands out. One option is using butted-end casing, which does not feature mitered corners and can help add texture and depth to doors.

Combining two side casing boards with a wider head casing resting directly above, this style draws the eye upward and makes an excellent choice for homes with higher ceilings.

Butted-end casing installation is also straightforward. Without angled joints to negotiate, simply cut horizontal pieces to match reveal line and nail them together for assembly. To add an additional decorative touch, decorative corner blocks or rosettes may also be added for extra flair.

Minimalist

If you prefer minimalist decor styles, this door trim idea may be ideal for your home. It creates an unassuming and simple aesthetic that's easy to pair with other elements in the room - it also works great with modern decor styles!

Make your home even more stunning by adding a textured door casing. This type of molding is created by shaping edges of wood strips using a router and stacking them to form larger moldings - an excellent addition for door or window frames as it's durable, anti-rust, and won't attract termites!

Victorian casings are elaborately hand-carved to add an opulent look to any house, while their versatile shape means they can fit any architectural style or decor perfectly. You can paint them any color to complement the style of your home!

Marble

Marble casing adds luxuriousness to your home while being easy to install; it can serve both as baseboard or door trim depending on your style. Marble trim is great way for creative home designers who wish to break out from the norm when it comes to their house design.

This trend combines rustic designs with farmhouse aesthetic. It is perfect for making any house appear smarter and upscaler.

This door casing feature boasts wider frames that add strength to a home's exterior, making it the ideal match for Colonial doors and other classic architectural styles. Installation is made easier thanks to its simple profile with miters at each corner - pairing well with darker walls as well.

Unfinished Fluted Molding

Fluted molding offers modern interior door trim ideas without costing too much to implement, featuring classic styling with unfinished sides for customization to match any taste or decor.

This type of casing features elegantly curving ribs that pair nicely with its use of rosette blocks and plinth blocks to achieve an elegant traditional aesthetic. Commonly found as casing, but sometimes also used for chair rails or mantles.

White River offers this casing profile in solid Poplar wood for ease of cutting and use with standard woodworking tools. All casings ship unfinished and ready for staining or painting.
