How to Choose an Awning For Your Caravan?

For road trips and holidays, the balance that is provided between mobility is hard to beat with a caravan. You can simply hitch it up to your car and tow most of the comforts of home wherever you go.

Caravans and RVs remain a mainstay of the holiday season, and their popularity has shown few signs of stopping. How do you make a great appliance even better? With caravans, you could always use a little more space. That is the advantage Amazing Awnings provide.

Awnings Maximise Available Space

As good as they are, there must be compromises made to keep caravans at a reasonable size for road use. That means that floor space suffers a little. No matter how large the caravan or RV is, you will always need a little extra room.

Awnings are so useful because they protect you from the elements, so your facilities are covered. They also provide shade from the sun and a measure of privacy when parked. The convenience is also apparent in how easy they are to use. Most awnings are very easy to set up, taking less than 5 minutes.

Choosing The Right One For Your Needs

There are awnings in so many different shapes and sizes. Awnings also come in various fabric types. To select the best fit, you need to know the style that best fits your vehicle. So far, awnings are of three categories namely full awnings, porch-style awnings, and canopy awnings. Of course, there are variations within the three styles and even specialist awnings that may be tailored to any specific wants or needs.

Awning selection also involves deciding on the material or fabric you want, as well as poles, a groundsheet or other accessories that may be necessary.

Full awning

A full awning will be fully extendable. It will also typically be designed to cover one side of your caravan from end to end. A full awning can effectively double your usable space, providing you with room for all your equipment and facilities. Full awnings are rather large and must be completely taken off before moving.

Porch Awning

This is a much smaller awning which is designed to only fit over the side door of a caravan or RV. It is meant to provide shelter for you to dust off any dirt, shake off any rain or take off dirty shoes before getting into your mobile home.

Canopy Awning

A canopy awning strikes a balance between the first two. It is large enough to provide useful space but is small enough to be rolled up on the side of the caravan or RV while you move.

Convenience Is Your Main Benefit

RV awnings give you tons of extra space in a convenient package that folds away when not in use. So there is extra space when you are at the park and need it, but it tucks out of the way when you are on the move and do not. Your caravan will probably have specifications for the ideal awning type and size in the manual. You can use the specs in your manual to narrow your search and make an informed decision.
