Places to See Burlesque in Chicago

Chicago offers plenty of places for lovers of burlesque entertainment to find it, from prohibition-era speakeasies and strip clubs, to historic prohibition-era speakeasies. Burlesque can be found throughout its long history here starting (officially) at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition.

Logan Square bar known for cocktails and pizza potstickers hosts free burlesque shows every Wednesday evening; you can even become part of the show by adding on a Hot Seat add-on!

Untitled Supper Club

Untitled Supper Club, situated below Kinzie Street in River North, is an underground speakeasy from the Prohibition-era that provides world-class entertainment. Offering 1920s-themed beverage services as well as seasonal, shareable food menu items and hosting a cabaret show every Thursday evening, this restaurant and lounge features world-class entertainment.

California Clipper

At California Clipper, a night out is an elegant and intimate experience. While enjoying cocktails crafted specifically to your palate and jazz music, watch talented dancers while watching talented dancers while sipping handcrafted cocktails and listening to jazz music. On Tuesday evenings, Eva La Feva hosts her nationally touring burlesque and belly dance performer known for her fluid technique base and emotive approach - not forgetting her stunning burlesque show every Tuesday night!

Humboldt Park bar Orbit Group, best known for their hospitality businesses Good Measure and Segnatore, have brought back to life after two years with their ownership of Humboldt Park Tavern's signature red lighting and cozy booths, as well as added a lounge space in place of former coffee shop C.C Ferns.

The lounge's relaxed ambience and seductive red lighting makes it the ideal venue for romantic dates or girls' night out. Relax in one of its comfortable booths while sipping on classic cocktails while listening to jazz or rockabilly music.

Stage 773

Stage 773 has provided budget theater space to visiting companies since 1988 in Lakeview's Belmont Avenue theater district, but now this arts-based nonprofit is turning all four theaters into a cocktail lounge replete with vibrant decor that transports patrons into fantastical realms.

One room features a witches grotto and magical tree made entirely from recycled shoes; in another patrons can select cocktails served by drag queens who exude lively sexual appeal.

The Cabaret at Stage 773 seats 69 people comfortably and provides an intimate setting, featuring tables and red leather bench seating that leads to its own private dressing room. Additionally, this venue hosts the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival each year as well as being dedicated to community gathering and art experiences. The staff at Stage 773 are passionate about providing this platform where all can come together.

Shakers on Clark

Shakers on Clark is an old-fashioned neighborhood bar located in Lakeview with a cozy space and sophisticated drinks, like its Tarot Card Cocktail Menu and friendly service staff - perfect for socializing! It replaced 3160 cabaret bar as its successor.

Nerdlesque burlesque is a form of burlesque that honors popular culture. Performers take your favorite sci-fi and comic book characters and present them in an irreverent light, perfect for geeky individuals looking for entertainment and to showcase their skills. This type of performance burlesque provides plenty of laughs while simultaneously showing off one's talents!

The Annoyance Theatre

At the Annoyance in Manhattan's East Village lies an intimate tunnel space known as The Annoyance that features brick walls and a bar in back. "Sketchfrogs," an innovative sketch comedy show by creator Scott Miller is running now; joining other notable theatrical venues like Upright Citizens Brigade, Magnet and the Pit for its brand of sketch-based comedy with looser plotlines and more tangents than elsewhere in its genre.

Burlesque is More's female performers have an unmistakable connection that comes through in each night of performance. From tease, dance and twirling for audiences who can't help but be drawn into their world of raunchy fun to their camaraderie and infectious laughter - their show runs until April 30th!
