The Best Paint Roller For Walls

Professional painters use paint rollers to achieve a sleek, uniform surface on walls that's instantly recognizable as their signature look. However, for optimal results it requires preparation, knowledge and care in regards to details; whether a beginner or expert alike the right roller can make all the difference in results.

Your project size and surface type will dictate which kind of paint roller you require. Standard nine-inch and 18-inch rollers typically work well on most surfaces. An oversize roller will cover more ground more quickly. There are various material choices available too, with woven synthetic covers typically recommended for interior applications and wool-fiber rollers providing optimal absorption when painting oil-based paints.

Roller handles are typically constructed of plastic or wood, although some professional painters prefer wooden ones for added comfort and control during long painting jobs. Some frames even include thumb grooves to ease wrist strain while nonslip coating makes gripping easier while a solid rim at the base prevents twisting as you paint.

This small and lightweight roller is easy to maneuver and great for all kinds of paint projects, featuring a deep tray for storage as well as a squeegee for wiping off excess. Ideal for tight spaces like trim and door frames or any narrow section of walls.
