She was also an enthusiastic champion for the arts. She often encouraged young talent and mentored several students over time.
Cheryl Tricoci was an inspiration to many, and her loss has left a profound void in their lives. According to her children, Cheryl balanced effortless grace with fierce determination in all she did, becoming "omnipotent in everything she attempted."
She was a pioneer who revolutionized the beauty industry with revolutionary concepts and innovations for today's consumer, earning both national and local acclaim and awards. Alongside Mario, she transformed traditional hair appointments into aspirational salon experiences that transformed clients' experience of them and the salons in which they patronize.
Most recently, she oversaw the launch of Mario Tricoci's private label makeup and skincare lines as director of esthetics and retail. Additionally, she developed sales training programs for their cosmetic artists.
Family sold majority stake in business 17 years ago to North Castle Partners of Greenwich, Conn, but recently bought it back. Today the chain boasts 16 spas in Chicago area and employs more than 1,300 professionals.
Mario Tricoci is an international beauty pioneer, having amassed many awards throughout his career. Starting as an apprentice in Italy, his real breakthrough occurred after moving to Chicago as an employee at one of its premier salons where he quickly rose through the ranks to gain prominence and win numerous accolades.
Mario opened his first salon in Chicago's Woodfield Mall. He became known for pioneering cuts with movement and perfecting blow drying techniques; later becoming a leading beauty expert and appearing on both local and national talk shows as a beauty expert.
Tricoci University was created as part of Mario's innovative vision and values to offer beauty professionals in salons the training necessary to work as professionals. Tricoci has since received accolades from various industry publications and remains a popular choice among beauty students. Mario also serves on the Board of Directors for Intercoiffure America as well as Fondation Guillaume within Intercoiffure Mondial; through these positions he has expanded beauty education business into multi-state/multi-campus centers.

Cheryl was known for running an exceptional beauty empire while being deeply committed to supporting local charities such as Bear Necessities and Misericordia Home - both located in West Ridge - that provide services for people living with developmental disabilities. Her easygoing grace combined with fierce determination left an indelible mark on many lives through generosity and love; we miss her immensely.
