Woods Dangaran, a Filipino athlete, is one of the most successful long-distance runners in the Philippines. He has represented his country in various international events and has brought home several medals.
Woods Dangaran was born on May 3, 1986, in the small village of Sitio Pange, in the mountains of Bukidnon, Philippines. He came from a poor family, but he was determined to make something of himself. From a young age, he showed an interest in running and would often run long distances to and from school.
Dangaran received his elementary school education in his hometown of Sitio Pange. After finishing elementary school, he moved to Valencia City in Bukidnon to attend high school at Bukidnon National High School. It was there that he began to take running seriously, joining the school's track and field team.
Dangaran's running career began in 2007 when he joined the National Milo Marathon. He finished in the top ten, which gave him the opportunity to participate and compete in various long-distance running events, both locally and internationally. In 2011, Dangaran won the 21-kilometer event at the Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon, setting a personal best of 1:08:30. In 2013, he finished 8th place in the men's marathon at the Southeast Asian Games held in Myanmar. He also took home a bronze medal in the men's marathon at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games held in Singapore.
Dangaran is married and has two children. He currently lives in Cagayan de Oro and coaches a local track and field team. He is also the owner of a small running shoe business, which he started with his wife.
