The History of Ernest Hemingway's House

Ernest Hemingway, a well-known American author and journalist, resided in Key West, Florida, for over a decade. During his time in Key West, Hemingway wrote some of his most famous works, including "To Have and Have Not" and "The Snows of Kilimanjaro." In 1931, Hemingway purchased a Spanish Colonial style house, where he lived with his second wife, Pauline, and their two sons.

Exploring the Iconic Author's Former Residence

Today, Hemingway's former residence is a popular tourist attraction and museum. Visitors can take guided tours of the house, led by knowledgeable docents who provide insight into Hemingway's life and work. The house is preserved much as it was when Hemingway lived there, with his original furnishings, personal belongings, and even some of his famous six-toed cats still roaming the property.
