New Trends in Interior Design - Furniture Inspired by Nature

January 4, 2023

Whether it's a dazzlingly designed piece of furniture or a practical piece of functional furniture, nature inspired pieces are making a splash in the world of interior design. It's a trend that can change the way you view your home and make it more connected to the natural world. Whether you're a fan of tropical plants or prefer the simplicity of a pebble on your coffee table, a nature-inspired piece of furniture can be the perfect addition to your interior.

Throughout history, designers have found inspiration in nature. Objects shaped like trees, flowers, and even animals have become popular in the furniture industry. There's nothing wrong with this trend, as a little attention paid to the natural world can help bring some much-needed balance to your living space.

A new take on the trend comes from Swedish design studio Front, who've been studying the effects of nature on health. Their Design by Nature collection combines the best of modern technology with the most aesthetically pleasing of natural forms. The furniture is inspired by the tangled branches of a tree, the sunlit foliage of an open field, and the natural splendour of a landscape awash with raindrops. Designed to be displayed indoors or outdoors, the furniture is also made from locally sourced materials.

Front's Design by Nature collection was developed after four years of research and development. To give the collection its name, Front used realistic 3D scans of wild landscapes to create an assortment of furnishings that pay homage to some of the most impressive aspects of nature.

One of the most impressive designs from the collection is the Bloom chair. The tufts of fiber-reinforced microfiber on the seat and back are an homage to the delicate blossoms that grow on a flower. These petals are then woven into a steel base. Sprouting from the center of the seat, the bloom appears to be a piece of art in motion.

Another example of a design that pays homage to nature is the Fleur de Camelia, which pays homage to Coco Chanel's legacy. This is a tufted chair crafted from solid mahogany and adorned with a brass finish. You can order a matching set, which features a tabletop and a stool.

In addition to being eco-friendly, a nature-inspired furniture piece can be a conversation piece. Unlike kitschy mugs, a soft pebble or a tree-shaped table can be a unique statement piece.

Besides the obvious use of nature-inspired designs, furniture manufacturers are now offering more options for homeowners who want to bring a touch of the natural world into their homes. Furniture designers are constantly being influenced by the landscapes they see, so you can be sure that the next time you visit your favorite gallery, you'll be able to pick up some great pieces for your home.

If you're looking for the latest and greatest furniture with a natural-inspired twist, then you might want to check out the following collections. Each offers an original look that will make your home stand out from the crowd.
